Lack of the climate observation from the eastern coast of the Antarctic Peninsula and data on complex interactions between atmosphere, ice and oceans embarrasses to predict future changes in the environment of deglaciated areas. However, the evidences of glacier retreat, shelf ice break up and seasonal sea-ice decay has been recorded by many scientists in this region during last 20 years. Evaluation of aerial images and multispectral satellite data from different time intervals (1979, 1988, 1990, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006) together with meteorological observations will be used to reconstruct recent deglaciation (in terms of last 30 years) of selected glaciers in the northern part of the James Ross Island."@en . .
