Structure modification is based on the intercalation of mostly organic guest species and cointercalation of various guests, which may react and/or polymerize in the interlayer space in the %22so called%22 interlayer nanoreactor. This interlayer reactor will be investigated in \u010Dase of photocalyticreaction resulting in the decomposition of organic polutants. Another way of structure modification investigated in this project is the surface grafting, i.e. the anchoring of the guest species in the clay surface.
