"The surface properties of polymers can be altered by ion irradiation and/or chemical doping. The main goal of the project is to study the physico-chemical and biological properties of polymers modified by irradiation with different ions and by grafting with bioactive agents. The properties of modified polymers will be studied by broad spectrum of analytical techniques and their bioactivity by standard in vivo and in vitro techniques. Special attention will be paid to use of the modified polymers as a support for cultivation of keratinocytes and to their use in the treatment of heavy burns and other skin defects.
