"Although numerous studies were made to determine the part on non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHCs) in atmospheric forest chemistry and their role in the global ozone balance, the results are still misstated and not sufficient due to nonsatisfactory sampling and analytical techniques - thermodesorption-GC analysis cycle. The objective of this proposal is to develop a syst\u00E9m for the 'real time monitoring' of forest biogenic NMHCs based on 'wet' effluent diffusion denuder technique. the advantage of this technique is to perform the sampling with excellent speciation between gaseous and particulate form, that this can be tailored to sample species both in gas or in condensed phases with excellent accuracy, can be simply used also in automated instrumentation and could flash up 'Blue haze' forest phenomena.
