"The goal of this project is to synthesize and verify properties of the proposed donor acceptor substituted imidazoles as potential NLO active chromophores. There have been proposed three main derivatives according to the imidazole p-conjugate scaffold placed between the donors (NMe2 or OMe) and acceptors (CN or NO2). The further introduction of smaller spacers such\u00A0as double or triple bond, azo, imino or 1,4-phenylen linkers as well as their combination allows the conjugation modulation\u00A0between the two donor and acceptor moieties. This fact provides unique possibility of the effective property tuning for such chromophores.
