" isotopic effects" . . . . . . "Two topics - 29Si13C couplings and LC 29Si NMR \u00A0- are integrated under the common title. The topics have evolved as the most promising from the previous project, they share the equipment (NMR spectrometers) and both deal with 29Si NMR of important organosilicon compounds. The 29Si 13C coupling measuring methods will be modified to allow determination of relative signs of these couplings and to provide reliable estimates of isotopic effects on 29Si and 13C chemical shifts. Their knowledge will enable theoretical interpretation and will simplify NMR line assignment. The data obtained will elucidate the factors governing small long-range couplings of this type. In the previous project we have proved principal feasibility of LC 29Si NMR. In the LC 29Si NMR part of the proposed project, we will continue to develop methods which cope with the sensitivity problem and are still suitable for real applications.
