One will be on the basis of bacterial (co)polyesters - poly(hydroxyalkanoate)s (PHA) and e-caprolactone, the other on the basis of e-caprolactone and poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PETP). Chemical modification of PHA will be done with the goal to stabilize physical properties of this natural polymer with simultaneous maintenance of the disposition towards biological destruction. The reaction of e-caprolactone with the solvolysate of the scrap of used bottles for the synthesis of the aliphatic-aromatic copolyesters will be used. Biodegradability of both copolyester types will be evaluated by the using controlled composting and cultures of ligninolytic basidiomycetes, filamentous imperfect fungi and yeast.
