"1"^^ . "Heavy metals removal from water belongs to the most important technologies in water management. Efficiency of this process directly or indirectly concerns not only the health of general population, but also the forms of life in fresh water. Due to costsof suitable materials, sorption processes are generally used for the second stage of water treatment, when residual pollutants concentration are reduced to final, limit values. Sorption materials (activated carbon produced from brown coal, zeolites,solid aluminium oxide, other materials on aluminosilicate basis, peat, chemically treated cellulose) were proved to be suitable for heavy metals removal from waters. The project would continue in the work on related topic, studied during the project GA\u010CR203/94/1171, which was successfully defended on the applicant's department in 1996. In the course of the project, new questions raised, concerning the need of achieving lower final concentrations compared to conventional precipitation methods. The"@en . . . .
