"New, highly efficient Pd(0) and Ni(0) catalysts for Suzuki and Hartwig-Buchwald couplings will be developed. The research will be inspired by the recent observation of P,C-coordination of Pd in complexes with MAP (14) and MOP (19), which is now believed to be general (Scheme 3 and Figure 1). Analogues of MAP will be synthesized in order to elucidate the catalysts mode of action, aiming at identification of the key intermediates in the catalytic cycle. Kinetic measurements will also be carried out as parof the mechanistic investigation.
