"A study of e+e- interactions in the region of the intermediate bosons W+, W- and Z0 gives possibility to test with high accuracy the Standard Model of elementary particle interactions, namely its electroweak sector and also many aspects of QCD. Gradual increase of LEP energy yields simultaneously excelent opportunities to search for new particles and thus to test models going beyond the Standard Model. The aim of the submitted grant project is to obtain support to participate in DELPHI data analysis with the emphasis on precise W mass measurements. The W mass is currently the key parameter needed to predict the Higgs particle mass within SM. The grant team will also concentrate on the support of those DELPHI subdetectors where we have participated already in the past.
