"Suggested project deals with an application of two types of electrical discharges at atmospheric pressure-electrical discharge stabilized by a stream of flowing medium (air, nitrogen etc.) and DC GlidArc for destruction of the most important pollutants (nitrogen oxides, sulphur oxides, carbon monoxide, volatile hydrocarbons, effluent gases from local and hospital incinerators). Energy of electrons produced in the discharge can be used for dissociation, excitation and ionization of pollutants or background gas components which can result in production of radicals that in turn in following plasmachemical reactions decompose toxic compounds. Topics to be solved: Study of basic physical and electrical parameters of the discharge. Study of current pulsations and electromagnetic emission of the discharges. Optimization of electrode's system from the standpoint of radicals' generation.
