"The aim of our proposal is to carry out the beta-asymmetry experiments on a number of isotopes (preferably near the N=Z line) to obtain the information on the presence of isospin-impurities in general and in particular about their magnitude near the proton drip-line. The proposed experiments will study isospin-forbidden beta-transitions of the nuclei in the proton-rich medium-heavy region (A=50-100) by the low-temperature nuclear orientation method. Recent theoretical calculations predict these impurities to increase from about 1% in the 40Ca region to 4-5 % in the 100Sn region. Isospin impurities reveal themselves by a non-zero value for the Fermi/Gamow-Teller mixing ratio in isospin-forbidden beta transitions. The beta asymmetry parameter which can be extracted from beta anisotropies of polarized nuclei is very sensitive to these impurities and therefore we can observe even the small impurities with a good precision.
