"Physical and chemical properties of metal thin films on metal or oxide substrates are strongly influenced by the deposited material and the thin film structure. The study of behavior of real thin film systems is very difficult due to the considerable amount of their structural parameters depending one on another. The structural effects can be studied using the model systems - well defined thin films. Such layers can be prepared by molecular beam epitaxy in ultra high vacuum conditions. The aim of theproject is the study of the structure and growth of these epitaxial layers by reflection high energy electron diffraction (RHEED). The influence of structure on the reactivity of Pd and Rh/Al2O3 model catalysts and the supraconductive properties of Nb/Cuand Nb/Al2O3 layers will be studied too. In all cases the research activity is connected with the development of high technology systems (exhaust catalysts, accelerating resonators, josephson tunnel junctions). Studium vlivu struktury na chov\u00E1n\u00ED re\u00E1ln\u00FDch tenkovrstvov\u00FDch syst\u00E9m\u016F je \u010Dasto obt\u00ED\u017En\u00E9 vzhledem k jejich slo\u017Eitosti a vz\u00E1jemn\u00E9 prov\u00E1zanosti parametr\u016F, kter\u00E9 jsou strukturou vrstev ovliv\u0148ov\u00E1ny, nebo kter\u00E9 naopak strukturu ovliv\u0148uj\u00ED. Jednou z cest studia strukturn\u00EDch jev\u016F je vyu\u017Eit\u00ED tzv. modelov\u00FDch syst\u00E9m\u016F - dob\u0159e definovan\u00FDch tenk\u00FDch vrstev (co do slo\u017Een\u00ED a struktury), jejich\u017E jednotliv\u00E9 parametry lze c\u00EDlen\u011B m\u011Bnit. Tyto vrstvy jsou na pracovi\u0161ti navrhovatele p\u0159ipravov\u00E1ny metodou molekul\u00E1rn\u00ED epitaxe v \u010Dist\u00FDch podm\u00EDnk\u00E1ch ultravysok\u00E9ho vakua. C\u00EDlem projektu je studium strukturyepitaxn\u00EDch vrstev i jej\u00EDho v\u00FDvoje b\u011Bhem r\u016Fstu, a to metodou reflexn\u00ED difrakce rychl\u00FDch elektron\u016F (RHEED).
