"8"^^ . "8"^^ . . . . "0"^^ . "The project deals with pulsed high-voltage (corona) discharges in streaming air and in water. The goal of the project is to find out conditions for generation of non-thermal, chemically reactive plasmas and to test a possibility to destruct organic pollutants in such plasmas. In air discharges the chemical reactions are iniciated by excitation of vibrational states sof molecules keeping the bulk gas relatively cold. Pulsed high voltage ('corona') discharges in water are still little known. As it followsfrom published papers, highly reactive transient species, especially hydroxyl radicals and hydrated electrons are generated in the discharge which destruct organic pollutants like oil species, phenols and others ('Advanced Oxidation Processes'). Electri cals and optical methods will be used for plasma diagnostics and chemical and mass analysis will be used for identification of the reaction products.
