"The project is a direct continuation of the present project No.202/93/0121 expiring in 1995. The subject of the project is an investigation of structure, composition, physical and biological properties of common polymers modified by irradiation with 100-1000000 keV heavy ions and by chemical doping, using IR and UV-VIS spectroscopies, nuclear analytical techniques, standard techniques of electrical resistivity and surface polarity measurements and standard methods of cell culture cultivation. The study will be focused on changes of surface and volume resistivity, surface polarity, on diffusion and radiation enhanced diffusion of anorganic agents in irradiated polymers with the aim to obtain necessary experimental data for proposition of theoretical models of charge transport and diffusion/trapping processes in modified polymers.
