The highest piezoelectric coefficients ever (2000pC/N) were observed in PZN-PT and PMN-PT crystals due to the special poling technique. Similar piezoelectric coefficients enhancement, however much smaller, have been observed also in BaTiO3 crystals poled along [001]- or [111]-direction.Main aim of the proposed project is the systematic study on domain structures in ferroelectric crystals belonging to the various ferroelectric species (BaTiO3, KNbO3, LiTaO3, LiNbO3, Pb5Ge3O11 etc.). Enhancement of the piezoelectric coefficients due to the domain engineering is supposed to be studied in crystals with defined multi-domain structures.
