"A substantial discrepancy exists between the theoretical and experimental results concerning the isospin impurities in nuclear states. Recent theoretical calculations predict these impurities to increase from about 1% in the 40Ca region to 4-5 % in the 100Sn region while few experimental results available show much smaller effects. In our project we propose to study this problem experimentally by measuring the isospin-forbidden beta-transitions of a number of nuclei in the proton- rich medium-heavy region (A=50-100) by low-temperature nuclear orientation method in order to obtain the information on the presence of isospin-impurities in general and in particular about their magnitude near the proton drip-line. The isospin impurities in nuclear states can be determined by observing an admixture of the isospin-forbidden Fermi component in a dominantly Gamow-Teller beta transition.
