"Within this project we will focus on formation of functional microstructures composed from microobjects and nanoobjects of various sizes and materials. Their self-arrangement will be done by force interaction between objects inside the microstructure, by so called optical binding, which is caused by the laser beam propagation and scattering in the suspension. The applicant\u2019s team is at the forefront in exploring this topic and will focus theoretically and experimentally on the geometries of counter-propagating laser beams and retro-reflected laser beam where the beam properties will be dynamically changed. It will lead to tuneable self-arrangement of dielectric microparticles or metal nanoparticles into microstructures with tuneable spectral response.
