The project is focused to effect of species position in hybridization matrix and possible genetic incompatibilities between them, with DNA profiling to enable accurate parentage identification and direct comparison of groups. Results should contribute towards limited knowledge on genetic features and fitness of hybrids with reciprocal parental input, yet remaining a challenge for conservation and aquaculture-derived restocking. Combined gene expression status analysis of redundant set of genes/genome in allopolyploid sturgeons of artificial and natural origin, in pure sturgeon species and in evolutionary diploid gars without recent allopolyploidization history is proposed to contribute to understanding the ancestral mechanism of origin and evolution of extant vertebrate species."@en . .
