We propose experimental investigation of complementary, thermally and mechanically driven classical and quantum flows: classical high Rayleigh number turbulent convection in the cold helium gas in the vicinity of its critical point, byuoancy driven convective flow in a two-fluid gas-liquid (both normal He I and superfluid He II) system and their heat transfer efficiency, counterflow, pure superflow, forced pipe and grid co-flow of superfluid He II in the two-fluid temperature regime and boundary layer flows of helium gas, liquid He I and He II due to oscillating structures in the entire available temperature range accross the superfluid transition down to the zero temperature limit of pure superflow. Here we shall focus on instabilities of laminar (potential) flow, attempting to resolve the details of transition to quantum turbulence, such as the puzzle of two critical velocities."@en . . .
