"The main idea of the project is to develop technological and design methodology for functionally graded fiber reinforced cementitious composite (FG-FRCC) structural members, which would combine the advantages of highly ductile \u201Cstrain hardening fiber reinforced cementitious composites\u201D (SHCC) and high-strength \u201Cultra high performance fiber reinforced cementitious composites\u201D (UHPFRCC). The methodology will utilize the concept of integrated structures and materials design (ISMD) to optimally distribute the individual materials in the member to achieve desired load capacity and durability (crack width) with minimum fiber content. A combined experimental-numerical approach will be employed, in which physical experiments will be complemented by numerical simulations. To this end, analytical model for FG-FRCC will be developed and validated. The proposed concept will be demonstrated on a design of a prototype member.
