"The project is focused on theoretical and experimental investigation of some statistical aspects of quantum dynamics in interacting many-body systems. The experimental part of the project concerns atomic nuclei while the theoretical part deals also with other quantum systems like molecules and atomic clusters, quantum optical systems, mesoscopic structures etc. The project consists of three main parts: [A] Dynamical symmetries and phase transitions in low-dimensional quantum systems: study of quantum critical behavior for the ground and excited states in the models with singularities of classical dynamics. [B] Collective excitations and strength functions in nuclei: theoretical description of giant resonances using the density-functional formalism and extraction of new experimental data on radiative strength functions from selected nuclear reactions. [C] Signatures of chaos in complex quantum systems: transitions between ordered and chaotic behavior in collective degrees of freedom, application of the random-matrix method and its tests with the aid of nuclear decays."@en .
