"The main delivery of the project is to provide unique insights to the evolutionary patterns of Euro Asiatic Chenopodium album agg. and the functional consequences of polyploidisation mediated duplication on floral development genes by studying the phylogenetic relationships among species and gene expression. Many species of diploid-polyploid complex of C. album evolved through hybridization and polyploidization events. However, different studies brought contradictory results most likely due to incomplete sampling design \u2013 the number of species studied is not sufficient. We will apply a combination of classical caryology for precise chromosome number determination, flow cytometry for ploidy level estimation, cpDNA for maternal parent determination and a nuclear markers derived from FTL genes that are capable in to identify parental genomes in various tetraploid and hexaploid taxa in C. album agg. The complex network of the taxa of various ploidy levels in C. album agg. provides an excellent opportunity to analyze possible gene function modification in various genomic context."@en . "0"^^ .
