"The optimisation of melting process and properties of inorganic glasses"@en . "The project associates a substantial part of the Czech glass research capacity in order to solve present problems in the field of melting and optimisation of industrially produced glasses. Mathematical and physical modelling of the processes which take place in the glass melting is considered as the basic research method, with the aim to pass from the temperature and velocity fields prediction to prediction of glass homogeneity. The results of the model research will be verified by monitoring of glass homogeneity and particles and gas emissions of real glass furnaces. Actual ecological and health aspects of the glass behavior are the parametres determining practical use and behavior of glass products today. This is the reason why the project is also focused on the quantification of the amount of ecological and hygienic irregular components leached from the container glasses and on the ways of their reducing including optimisation of glass chemical composition.
