"The aim of our project is to propose and prepare materials which should be applied in the fields that make considerable demands on materials from the viewpoint of high temperature strength, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance. We would consider materials on the base of aluminides and silicides of selected transition metals (e.g. Ni, Ti), which can possibly be modified by other microalloys. The project is focused to experimental study of the behaviour of a number of intermetallic compound - metallic matrix systems with the purpose of investigating mutual interactions of these joint materials, to assessing their stability in particular temperature and time regimes, determining diffusion characteristics of the joint materials and investigating the mass transport in the interphase boundary region.
