"The fundamental objective of the project is to determine conditions for intercritical heat treatment (IHT) of heavy castings of low alloyed manganese steels with respect to maximizing of their performance characteristics.IHT of alloyed hypoeutectoid steels is based on heating into temperature range where austenite,ferrite and carbonitrides of some microalloying elements ( e.g.V,Ti,Nb) are in thermodynamic equilibrium.Among main direction of the project belongs determination of the effect of alloyingwith manganese and carbonitride forming elements on the kinetics of austenite decomposition into nonequilibrium transformation products.As far as cast steels are concerned,the phase transformations during intercritical processing will be pronouncedly influenced by primary heat treatment which aims to reduction of segregation and to controlling of austenitic grain size.Investigations of the microstructure particularly by means of analytical electron microscopy and diffraction will create the theoretic"@en . . .
