The homogenization method will be used to find suitable constitutive and balance laws applicable to describe flow in whole brain that also allow for respecting microcirculation, the influence of pores geometry, branching, interconnections of various hierarchies and other attributes important for describing diffusion-deformation phenomena. Such a task requires histological maps of microstructure in various parts of brain. The aim is to develop a software simulating cerebral blood flow (CBF) and a methodology of processing results of CT perfusion examinations by observing diffusion of tracer. The model will be able to simulate pathological changes, to assess sensitivities of standard examination methods for identifying a given defect, also to quantify a range of impairment.
