"Analysis of performance and durability of concrete usually omits one significant factor i.e. gamma irradiation, which, however, plays an important role in safety of nuclear power plants and may also affect properties of concrete applied in construction of nuclear-waste containers. The present team combines physicist and civil engineers with aim to study this open and serious problem. In this project procedure for irradiation of hardened cement paste (HCP) will be elaborated. The main goal of our research is focused on study of changes of mechanical properties, texture and phase composition of this system under various doses of irradiation.
