"The essence of the proposed project consists in the development of new quality tools for die-castings aimed at increased competitiveness. The goal is to obtain accurate knowledge of strength and stress relations in examined alloys, create complex qualitytools using analytical relations between solidification parameters (local solidification time, cooling rate) and as-cast microstructure characteristics (secondary DAS, Rm, Rp0.2, A), and calculate the quality index as an evaluation parameter of quality tool for castings. Mechanical parameters can be predicted by simulation and optimized by controlling the casting process, thus creating integrated criterial functions of simulation software. Stress relations will be analysed experimentally (strain-gauge and X-ray methods) and by simulation (MAGMA and SIMTEC software).
