"The project is evoked by environmental and economic demands to suppress essentially CO2 emission by decreasing fuel consumption in automotive and aerospace transport. This can be achieved by the substitution of the material of massive parts that are longtime exposed to the dynamic loading at high temperatures for significantly lighter one. The age hardenable magnesium alloys with combination of rare earths (inclusive Y) - R.E. and with an addition of other elements such as Mn are the perspectivematerials in this respect. They were developed for the usage at the temperatures above 250\u00B0C and have not only the highest specific strength of all structural materials but are also highly creep resistant at these temperatures. Poor knowledge of theirbehaviour in dynamic loading and by failure obstructs their more frequent usage.
