The choice of a proper compatibilizer for a certain polymer blend is necessary condition for efficient preparation of new materials and recycling of mixed plastic waste. So far, the rule for prediction of the effect of a block copolymer on structure and properties of polymer blends from the knowledge of the copolymer structure, properties of theblend components and mixing conditions has not been formulated. The aim of the project is to compare effects of the molecular structure of a compatibilizer and mixing conditions on the morphology, and rheological and mechanical properties of compatibilized polymer blends and to formulate rules, which explain discrepancies in experimental results.
