. . "4"^^ . . "Aluminium alloys containing scandium are modern materials which are in the centre of interest during the last five years. The addition of a few per cent tenths of Sc to Al alloys significantly affects their structure and thus the properties of final products. The shift of the recrystallization temperature to above 550oC is one of the most interesting and beneficial effects of Sc. Due to this effect unrecrystallized structure is produced in extruded materials which then exhibit better mechanical properties of up to 20%. In recrystallized structures the precipitation of Al3Sc phase inhibits grain growth and in this way fine grain structure, suitable for superplastic forming, is produced. The project is oriented to the alloy AlMg3ScZr and includesthe evaluation of the structure, substructure, mechanical, fatigue and physical properties of extruded shapes.
