"Trickle bed reactors are intensively used in chemical industry for heterogeneous catalysed reactions between gas and liquid reactants, e.g., hydrogenation and hydrotreating processes, oxidation of pollutants in waste water or toxic gases treatment. Presented project is focused both to the intensification of trickle bed reactor productivity and to the increase of reactor operation safety. In the project framework, a study of reactor throughput related to its unsteady state regime caused by periodically changed flow rate and/or feed concentration is supposed. The aim of study is also an assessment of different kinds of algorithm for the trickle bed reactor safety control, under conditions of a strong exothermal reaction processing in it. Thpossible ways for the prevention of hot spot formation in the catalyst bed by means of an on-line digital control will be considered too.
