In the proposed project we would like to study in detail the methods of hypersulfonation of strongly acidic ion exchangers, their influence on the morphology of the resin support, and finally,catalytic properties of the hypersulfonated resins with the goal to determine the mechanism of the hypersulfonation effect on catalysis. The main goal will be to distinguish whether the effect is a simple addition of the acid centers preferentially into the domains most accessible for the catalytic reaction (without an influence on their specific activity per unit of acidity), or truly the local increase of the concentration of the acid centers resulting in substantial increase of the specific catalytic"@en . .
