The reason why this research has been started is the presence of many contradictory theories in the literature dealing with the dependency of the mass transfer intensity on the bubble diameter. The extreme cases of the theories are either the situation in which small bubbles do not contribute to the overall mass transfer at all or the situation in which the mass transfer from bubbles of all diameters is the same. These contradictory theories originated from the misinterpretation of the mass transfer coefficient measurement, that had been done by the not sufficiently verified measurement techniques. In the mass transfer laboratory the experimental techniques have been developed, thatmake possible to seaprate the interfacial area and the mass tranfer coefficient.
