"Glasses, irradiated with electrons in energy range from a few hundreds eV to a few MeV, undergo changes that manifest in the change of topology and geometry of their structural network, phase separation, crystallisation, alkali ion diffusion, surfacereconstruction, segregation and in other phenomena. Characteristics of unirradiated glases are often very different from the unirradiated ones. The project that follows the currently solved one, incorporates study of the other, more complexalkali-silicate glasses. One of the driving processes, that determines changes in the irradiated glass, is the diffusion of alkali ions. This phenomenon will be studied by the developed decay curve analysis, succesfully used in the study of simple binaryand ternary systems. This method will be complemented with direct observation of irradiated glass with low-voltage electron microscope.
