"The aim of the grant project is to carry out a sensitivity analysis of the factors influencing the limit states of thinned walled steel structures. The analysis will focus on selected types of thinned walled\u00A0stractures exposed to effects of repeated loading where the process of damage accumulation and fatigue limit state depend - to a considerable degree - on inevitable initial imperfections, in particular on the shape and magnitude of the initial curvature of system\u00A0steel members. The project concentrates on the numerical analysis using FEM and statistical characteristics of initial imperfections obtained experimentally. In order to improve both reliability and safety of the designed system, it will be analyzed to what extent the measured result is affected by the variability of initial imperfections, or - in other words - the sensitivity level of the response to the alteration of the input parameter.
