"The project, realization and operation of water management systems including urban drainage structures occur under conditions of marked vagueness of the knowledge of physical properties of hydraulic processes, operational and socio-economic relationships particularly climatic and hydrological conditions in the studied region. Hydrological data, their systematic processing or statistic evaluation affect correctness of the choice of a suboptimal scale serving for the determination of a socially acceptable relationship between the hydraulic-environmental reliability of the system and expended costs. The project offers tools removing impacts of limited observations and measurements of random variables in urban hydrology taken as input edge conditions for mathematical modelling being a limited factor for the optimized project of the urban drainage systems. Procedures will be developed and tested to assess the representative character of hydrological inputs for needs of urban drainage by means of selected instruments of the stochastic process analyses based on precipitation observations."@en . .
