"Contact problems of the mechanics of multi-phase granular materials (e g soils, rocks) and their lateral pressures especially belong to the category of theoretical very and extraordinary complex tasks, solution of which influences the matter of engineering structures. In spite of the engineering practice rules do not involve the definitions of some lateral pressures kinds and their regulations are not in accordance both with the new theoretical knowledge and the experimental one (e g EUROCODE 7-1 %22Geotechnical design%22, Art 9 5, CSN 73 0037 %22Earth pressure acting on structures%22 Art 74). The more advanced idea of the theory was formulated on the base of the mentioned knowledge and designated of the term %22General Lateral Pressure%22 (GLPT). It is necessary to verify and to put this theory more precisely. The proposed research concentrates to the key problem of the lateral pressure of granular masses, i.e. to the contact problem of granular mass and retaining structure. A basic conception of"@en . .
