"The project is directed to the research and desing of a new type of compact X-ray laser, pumped by pinching nitrogen capillary discharge. The research goal is to get inversion population between energy levels corresponding to Balmer alpha transition of hydrogen -like nitrogen ions. The recombination pumping during the plasma expansion after the pinch is analyzed and generation of coherent radiation with the wavelength 13.4 nm is considered. The solution consists of computer modelling, realization of experimental device and development of methodology for interaction of EUV radiation with biology specimens. Primarily, the emitted spectra in the range from 2 nm to 20 nm will be studied under various experimental conditions. The radiation emitted by capillary discharge with the wavelength 13.4 nm and wavelength in water window will be used for biological experiments.
