"The project focuses on the problem of elimination or minimization of negative effects of unbalanced or in other way low-quality power supply on solid-state voltage-source converters containing DC links. The unbalanced power supply gives rise to unfavorable harmonic components in the DC-link voltage, which may have significant negative impacts on the electric machine and may lead to an important reduction in the lifetime of the drive. One of the worst consequences in industry is the need for frequent shutdowns of drives as well as of driven applications with all the associated economic losses. Novel complex approach is proposed that analyzes the capability of the drive system as a whole as well as of its individual parts to balance the energy flow in time. The analysis will be carried out for the front-end AC/DC converter, the DC link, the output stage of the converter, but also for the rotating electric machine and the power network in the vicinity of the drive.
