"All adaptive controllers based upon discrete time models of a continuous time controlled process share the same disadvantage: they dont respect the continuous nature of controlled process. It results that some information (sometimes playing significant role for control purposes) about the process can be lost. To reach high quality of control a hybrid concept (continuous model vs. discrete data handling) has been addressed from a non traditional perspective. The essence of that is the combination of modelling of continuous time controlled system using convolution and piecewise approximation of signals (using spline functions). The adopted idea studied and developed in applicants Ph. D. thesis allows us to construct the hybrid adaptive controller of Linear Quadratic Gaussian type. The goal of the proposed project is to design and analyse a hybrid adaptive Multi Input Multi Output multirate controller.
