"The aim of the proposed project is to get deeper and more precise information on mechanism of multiaxial fatigue damage of machine parts made out of carbon steels. The research will continue on the current state of knowledge on multiaxial fatigue in the world and on own results as well. Combined stress will be generated in tested samples by a simultaneous harmonic synchronized loading in the modes tension-pressure and torsion. The variable parameters will be the ratio between normal and tangential stress components and their mutual phase shift. New criteria of limit conditions will be formulated basing on a comparison of experimental data and numerical data taken from theoretical analysis of local stress states in a stress concentration zone. Local stresses calculated for multiaxial loading by FEM respecting different ratio of normal and tangential components allow to determine effective values of the stress concentration factors.
