"The objective of this project is investigation of fluid flows past walls with substantial curvature and/or thermal effects. In such flows, complicated vortex structures may appear due to the internal instabilities. This leads to phenomena for which thereis so far no fully satisfactory explanation, such as the bistability - existence of two alternative stable flow regimes - with bifuration transitions between the regimes. Multiple bifurcations may gradually lead to complex multistable behaviour. The problems of stability and non-unique character may be substantially influenced by effects of heat transfer and by acoustic disturbances. The target is to perform in selected flow cases, in particlar those having character of jet or wall jet, a detailed stability analysis supplemented by numerical solution of the particular flowfield and aerodynamic or hydrodynamic experiments.
