"The main objective of the project is the basic research of modern methods for the noise and vibrations suppression, such as Piezoelectric Shunt Damping (PSD) and Active Elasticity Control (AEC). Principle of these methods is based on connecting the piezoelectric elements, which are attached to vibrating mechanical structures, to passive or active electrical networks. Using the proper adjustment of the electrical network, the dynamic response of vibrating mechanical structures can be changed, in order to suppress the noise and vibrations. The research activities will be focused on the theoretical analysis of vibration modes of complex mechanical structures with attached piezoelectric elements and their interactions with acoustic field, research of design tools for the optimization of noise and vibration suppression efficiency and stability of PSD and AEC systems, analysis of the effect of AEC control on acoustic parameters of mechanical systems, etc. The project results, i.e. novel methods and"@en .
