"The project is focused on the very actual problematics of the compressible viscous fluid flow in very narrow gaps and in long microchannels for supercritical pressure gradients. The proposed project aims to determine the elementary physical description of the microflow and related physical phenomena. The objective of the project is a creation of an appropriate mathematical model of the microflow, which might have a general application in mechanical engineering, such as flow in microturbines or in clearance gaps of screw compressors. The original software code based on the suitable numerical method will be developed for simulations of the transonic viscous flow in very narrow gaps and microchannels of complex geometry. The relevant part of this project consists of developing an appropriate experimental method and methodology for qualitative visualization of the microflow as well as quantitative analysis of the characteristics of the studied flow field.
