"The objective of this research is an experimental study of the influence of the surface roughness on the elastohydrodynamic lubrication in rolling/sliding point contacts. The colorimetric interferometry will enable to determine the behavior of transversely and longitudinally orientated bumps and grooves while their passing through the elastohydrodynamic contact. Such dynamic phenomena will be also observed under thin film lubrication regimes for film thicknesses down to few nanometers.The use of this technique will allow us to determine the influence of both macroscopic and microscopic surface roughnesses on elastohydrodynamic lubrication film. Obtained results will enable to validate current theories of elastohydrodynamic lubrication of rougsurfaces.The results of this research will be able to bring some new information about the behavior of the real elastohydrodynamic contacts."@en .
