The analyzer will be based on a coupling of an electrochemical microsensor (detector system) with a microdialysis probe (separation system). Such design will make it possible to introduce the probe into the tissue and have the levels of low-molecular biologically active substances continuously monitored on-line. The projected appliance will be validated and calibrated in vitro (using cell cultures) as well as in vivo (using animal models with laboratory rats of Wistar strain). The analyzer will be optimized especially for the on-line determination of nitric oxide (NO) one of the current analytical targets in biomedical and clinical research. The technical solution, which would enable such a unique type of analysis is at present commercially unavailable.
