The morphology of impact polypropylene is to be studied in detail from its origin in the reactor as a polymer particle, through the morphology of pellet forming after the homogenisation of polymer powder in the extruder, up to the morphology of impact polypropylene in the final product. The morphology of impact polypropylene is to be studied mainly with modern microscopic imaging techniques (AFM, tomography, TEM, ...). The influence of different Ziegler-Natta catalysts, gas-phase polymerisation conditions and the structure of impact polypropylene on its morphology is to be studied. The means of incorporation of ethylene-propylene rubber into homopolymer particle is to be studied with respect to its porosity.
