"Pea yield is often negatively influenced by complex of diseases. Powdery mildew is one of the important pathogens. Pathogen attacks pea plants at stage of green maturity, especially at maturation. Powdery mildew occurrence decreases quality of harvested production, significantly decreases weight of thousand seeds and increases occurrence and damaging by complex Mycosphaerella + Phoma + Botrytis. The research of genetic protection of pea against powdery mildew was not estimated in European countries. There is no pea variety with recessive gene er-1 or er-2. This project deals with creating of qualitative new initial breeding material of pea with immunity to powdery mildew, with increased resistance to other diseases and with significant yield potential. The next aim of this project is confirmation or refutation of hypothesis that resistance to powdery mildew is in negative correlation with yield and quality of harvested production.
